Our client is seeking an experienced Staff EHS Specialist to join their medical device manufacturing plant based in Limerick.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors; conduct comprehensive site inductions.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions to mitigate reoccurrence.
- Develop, test, and maintain emergency response plans through drills and simulations.
- Monitor and manage environmental aspects, promoting sustainability and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain HSE documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training records, ensuring accuracy and currency.
- Communicate HSE policies and procedures effectively across all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of safety.
- Stay current on changes in HSE legislation, ensuring alignment of company practices with up-to-date standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in an HSE role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation, with a track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and policies.
