Our client engineers, designs, builds and installs sophisticated automated equipment for a mail and shipping services agency. The Installation Manager needed a contract recruitment solution to staff technical positions to support 1,255 installations at many different locations across the U.S. 

Technical employees would be responsible for installing and commissioning computer-driven electro-mechanical equipment. These positions required nearly 100% travel for 18+ months. 

The client lacked the resources needed to quickly identify and hire the talent they needed to complete the project. They also wanted to control labor costs, since the number of workers needed could fluctuate over time.

Our Results 

Sterling provided a Project Manager to design the program and oversee the project. We also ensured the assembly of the installation team and dedicated a Scheduler/Travel Coordinator to the client. Due to the upfront investment in training (lasting three weeks), the client wanted to minimize the risk of missing the project deadline. A bonus structure based on specific milestones for each individual, as well as overall team performance, was incorporated into the program. This complex and extensive logistical project was completed on time and under budget. As a result of this success, the client has engaged Sterling for several subsequent installation and training project deliveries.
