The Challenge

Client: Ethic Food Manufacturer
Objective: Find a solution to sustain short-term and long-term demand with their existing facility configuration.

An ethnic foods manufacturer wanted to expand their operations and needed to determine if the new process would fit in its current facility.

  • Historically, the manufacturer had a business mix of 60% Meat vs. 40 % Bakery, Sauces, & Humas.
  • More recently, the mix changed, with Bakeries and Sauces & Humas becoming the dominant businesses.
  • The client was experiencing unprecedented growth.
  • Would they be able to meet short-term and long-term demand with their existing facility as it was configured?
  • What changes would need to be made to leverage current success and ensure their long-term prosperity?

Our Solution

After defining the future expansion requirements, engineers measured all existing capital equipment and created a 3D plant layout using the 2D architectural drawings.

Sterling created several future state configurations of the process, and after reviewing the options with the executive team, the client decided to lease a new building for the additional process.

The Results
